I did not start as the Founder of the House of Tzur.<\/p>\n

I started as a man trying to perform masculinity.<\/p>\n

Confident on the outside.
Insecure on the inside.<\/p>\n

My identity was built on validation.
On being desired.
On being respected.
On being seen as strong.<\/p>\n

I worked with youth.
Led in church.
Held leadership roles.<\/p>\n

But privately, I struggled.<\/p>\n

Substances were not recreation.
They were regulation.<\/p>\n

Alcohol.
Marijuana.
Cocaine.
Acid.
Mushrooms.<\/p>\n

It started in high school.
It stabilized for a season.
Then tragedy accelerated it.<\/p>\n

I was functioning.<\/p>\n

But I was fractured.<\/p>\n

\u00a0They relocated my entire family. <\/span>New environment. <\/span>New sunlight. <\/span>New opportunity. <\/span>But geography does not change identity. <\/span>Discipline does.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I built structure. <\/span>Morning regulation. <\/span>Breathwork. <\/span><\/p>\n

They could sense I had lived fracture.<\/h3>\n

Men do not need louder voices.<\/h3>\n

I sought counseling. One counselor told me:
\u201cYour son is dead. You need to get over it.\u201d<\/h3>\n

I let him go. The third counselor changed everything. He was unfamiliar with my world.<\/h3>\n

But he was steady.<\/h3>\n

Compassionate.
Structured.
Honest.<\/h3>\n

He introduced medication.
Structure.
Accountability.<\/h3>\n

And before that, I felt something clear:<\/h3>\n

God told me to get sober for two weeks. Not forever. Two weeks. That decision began reconstruction.<\/h3>\n
